The link to my 2nd reflection. Thank you for participating and being constructively positive. I appreciate all your feedback and it's been a pleasure being in class with you all. I've learned so much from everyone. Have a wonderful summer!

I liked the premise of this lesson, learning about a country's system of government and reporting back to the group. It might have helped to point people to a few "curated" and reliable sources, such that everyone would have a similar jumping off point. I liked that after we all learned something about "our" country that we came back together and shared our findings, it really increased my level of engagement.
ReplyDeleteI liked how we each had out own country to look at and that the countries were from different parts of the world and not just from one area because the lesson becomes more engaging when we're learning about the different types of government as well as what's going on around the world. You brought in some resources from the curriculum resource center that didn't seem to be used, so I would either cut them out or lay out the specific pieces of the packets that could be helpful and not the whole thing. Finally, I liked the little game with the notecards and guessing what types of government different countries had because it was kind of fun and really got me engaged in the overall lesson.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed this lesson even more than the last one because not only were we learning about different types of governments, but there was a good balance between instruction and class discussion. I agree that more reliable sources could be used, however the overall class was very interactive and engaging.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed the fact that you brought a power point for the lesson. That guided us through the research process and it made the discussion better. One thing I think you have to keep in mind is timing each section of the lesson a little better so you don't have to rush some parts because of it. That is pretty much it. I really enjoyed the lesson. Keep the hard work!
